BUSA 2007

At the end of April Sarah and the newcastle university teams travelled to Doncaster for a weekend of canoe polo at the University championships. Playing on both the ladies team and the open team it proved to be quite a tiring weekend but the results were worth it in the end: The open team came so close in the final.....
but in the end came away with an excellent silver medal.
The ladies team ended up in the final against ULU who had knocked us out in the semi's for the previous 2 years. At full time it was 0-0 so it went to a golden goal decider. With a bit of long distance shooting I managed to put in the vital goal ..... so we came away with gold medals!!!!

Highlands.

A long week-end up to Inverness-shire, to visit JP and Jenny - and also there slightly mad friend Sam.

A good road trip up there (I slept for 5 hours of it) and a couple of beers finished of the working week.
After eating breakfast with Jenny, fresh from her night shift, the remaining four headed out to check a low water local run out.

We discovered a gem: The Meig - is ace.

Elbow pads are advised as are good sticky shoes. I managed with a couple of bashed elbows, but all good. We walked one drop and chicken chuted another.

JP and Sam reunited at the get out

Once that excitement was done, we collected Jenny and went for a walk along another river. Empty.

We also paddled the Findhorn at a low but nice level, a couple more walks and inspected another low water option - it was too low.

We did get Sam to swim though.

For more pics of the river see here.

Also check out Jenny + JP's blog.

Suffolk.

After picking Sarah up from the airport we spent two days of the bank holiday w/e in and around Suffolk and Norfolk.

It was nice.

I also realised I'm now old; I've been enjoying drinking the same beer that my Dad did when I was young (and still does).
Dad, your beer is no longer safe!

We popped into the broads on the way home;

How to boof.

Sarah spent a week of her Easter holiday in Slovenia, learning how to boof and other exciting things. All thanks to Kayakojacko.

And Marcus proposed to Emma. Nice one guys.

I'm sure Sarah will add a few more details.

More pics here.

Sat gis tamquam mus in matella.

That's right, we have been busy as bee's;
Isn't Google great!

We have been for some walks (Peak district), visited Si and Helen in Cornwall, some more walks and then we dressed up for the NUCC Ball.

Nice.
